I had to have a long talk with my son about being responsible with his glasses and how Mom and I don’t have a lot of money to be paying for a new pair every month.  He broke two pairs in two months during recess at school and playing with his friends in the snow.  The economy in Chicago isn’t good enough to just be careless about everything, especially something as costly as glasses.  We don’t have vision insurance so they cost a lot and my wife and I couldn’t afford any after the holidays and spending a lot on presents as well as his other glasses.
